Since 1973, the World Rally Championship has been the most challenging motorsport championship in the world. So when Volkswagen approached us to promote their commitment to the WRC across several rally weekends and selected motorsport events, we thought it had to be about more than just creating brand awareness at the experience. Our question: What’s left behind when the dust settles?
With this in mind, we created the #ExcitementWeShare campaign, bringing the rally back to the people while engaging them on-site and extending the experience on social media. At 21 locations across 12 European countries around Europe, we created an adrenaline-fueled Volkswagen experience with furious, heart-racing engagements for over 500,000 people. From snow-packed forest tracks to rock-strewn mountain passes, amplified by extraordinary content all along the way, we inspired over 5 million rally fans to share their excitement about the Volkswagen rally competition on social media.
