How does the application process look like?

Head over to the jobs section to get an overview of our open positions. You can filter the jobs by location, career level and/or unit. You’ll find application instructions for each job you are interested in. You may be asked to submit your application online or via email – if you’re asked to submit an online application, please click the “Apply now” button, if applicable.

What is the interview process?

The interview process will vary depending on the location, level, and job requirements. In general, you can expect the following process:

1st Round: Short interview via Skype, phone, or in-person with HR and/or Team Lead. You may be asked to prepare a small case study for the next interview round.

2nd Round: Personal interview with HR and/or Team Lead.

3rd Round: Short interview with responsible Managing Director.

Note that the 2nd and 3rd rounds may be combined.

Does Avantgarde offer apprenticeships or integrated degree programs?

No. To gain practical experience, please feel free to apply as an intern or as a working student. If you can’t find a suitable opening, we recommend that you submit a speculative application.

Does Avantgarde offer integrated degree programs?

We support top-performing employees if they choose to pursue postgraduate education (Master’s degree, MBA or PhD), as long as the program meets Avantgarde’s needs and creates added value.

Can I write my final dissertation at Avantgarde?

It is possible for students to complete their dissertation within Avantgarde, though we usually require several months of an internship or work placement to be completed beforehand.

Does Avantgarde offer a trainee program?

Avantgarde offers a trainee program any other you’ve seen before. Both graduates and young professionals are welcome to apply. First, commit to being totally flexible with regards to the work you’ll do and the location. You will be spontaneously assigned to the projects where you can both learn and contribute the most. Get in touch with a wide range of clients and industries while experiencing various office locations domestically and abroad!

Do you have any tips for applicants?

We’d love to recommend a few things concerning a) your application and b) the interview process.

a) Please make sure to send us all of your application documents: CV, school and university certificates as well as any reference letters that you received at the end of an internship or job. And don’t just list your previous employers in your CV – highlight your tasks, responsibilities, and achievements.

b) Since there is no formal dress code at Avantgarde you don’t have to formal attire when you interview. Wear whatever you like, just keep it neat and tidy. Jeans and sneakers are welcome, as is business casual. In preparation for your interview we recommend you take some time to reflect on the following questions: Why are you the right candidate for this position? Why exactly is this the job you are looking for? How can you contribute to Avantgarde’s success story?

Does Avantgarde offer the chance to work abroad?

Yes, definitely! Avantgarde has 10 international offices. Depending on capacity and project status, we always encourage our employees to go international. Global office hopping has never been more fun!

How can I develop my career at Avantgarde?

We want to see you grow. Employees have the opportunity to rotate teams and projects in order to get in contact with a diverse range of clients and industries. You can take your career abroad and work for one of our international locations! Still hungry for development? In some offices we offer an internal Learning & Development program consisting of several components, all in support of your personal career development. You’ll get the chance to create your own individual development plan.

Together with your team manager you’ll align personal goals with company targets, and you can count on structured feedback on your progress at least twice a year. We also offer several in-house training programs.

Our company language is English. Depending on the location we might also communicate in local languages. As there are vacancies with specific language requirements, we recommend that you read the relevant job advertisements carefully.
